Signs and Symptoms of Boils and Carbuncles

Boils

A boil (also known as a furuncle) is a bacterial infection of a blocked oil gland or hair follicle. A boil usually appears suddenly as a painful pink or red bump about half an inch in diameter. The surrounding skin also may be red and swollen. Within 24 hours, the bump fills with pus. It grows larger and more painful for five to seven days, sometimes reaching golf-ball size before it develops a yellow-white tip that finally ruptures and drains. Boils generally clear completely in about two weeks. Small boils usually heal without scarring, but a large boil may leave a scar.

A carbuncle is a cluster of boils that often occurs on the back of the neck, shoulders, or thighs, especially in older men. Carbuncles cause a deeper and more severe infection than a single boil. As a result, they develop and heal more slowly and are likely to leave scars.

Causes of Boils and Carbuncles

Boils and Carbuncles

Recurrent boils are commonly caused by gastrointestinal bacteria which prompt a skin infection. They can also be caused by consuming too much sugar, either refined or even from fruit. Open boils and carbuncles are contagious, therefore, can also be contracted from others. Most small boils that are less than half an inch can be treated at home, but boils that are larger than that and that don’t heal with home remedies and require immediate medical care. Boils and carbuncles that are around sensitive areas (for example face, armpits, groin and breasts) should never be squeezed. If you see red lines radiating from the boil or it is accompanied by fever, chills, or swelling in other parts of your body, you should consult with your health provider right away. If you have diabetes, you should always consult with your doctor as soon as any kind of boil or carbuncle appears.

Home Remedies for Boils and Carbuncles

Boils and Carbuncles Home Remedy Using Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil has been used as an antibacterial, antifungal, and antiseptic agent for centuries. As a result, many people have used it for the treatment of boils and carbuncles since it often speeds up the healing process and relieves discomfort.

  • Dab a cotton swab into a mix of a half tsp each of tea tree oil and olive oil.
  • Gently apply the oil mix onto the boil/carbuncle with the swab.
  • Dispose of the used swab and be careful that it does not make contact with uninfected parts of your skin to prevent further infections.
  • Repeat this several times a day.

Home Remedy for Boils and Carbuncles with Turmeric

Many people have found the spice Turmeric to be an excellent remedy to treat boils and other staph infections. Turmeric is a traditional Ayurvedic spice that is often used as a blood purifier and anti-inflammatory remedy. It can be purchased in powder form from many Indian grocery stores. Using this powder, a simple and effective remedy for boils is the following:

  • Add 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder to a glass of warm water.
  • Drink 1-2 times per day.
  • Healing will begin within a few hours.
  • Repeat for 3 days.

If you don’t like the Turmeric mixture with water, look for Turmeric capsules at a health food store.

Also applying a paste of Turmeric powder onto the boil and keeping it wrapped for a few hours may help. Keep changing the bandage every 3-4 hours.

NOTE: Regular high doses of turmeric can lead to dehydration and constipation, so be sure to take the above remedy only when necessary, such as when you begin to see signs of a boil. A single weekly dosage of the remedy is also acceptable at other times as a preventative measure. Also drinking plenty of water may keep you hydrated.

Hydrotherapy for Boils and Carbuncles

Hydrotherapy, which consists of warm or wet compresses, has been shown to help soothe the pain associated with boils. By compressing a boil with warmth, blood is drawn to the infected area, which helps the body fight the infection more quickly.

Washcloth Compress
Washcloth compresses are the best and easy way to treat a boil. Take a clean washcloth and dip it in fairly warm salt water and place it onto the boil. The compress should be very wet and warm and it should be placed on the boil for 10-15 minutes at least 5 times daily. It speeds up the process of bringing the boil to a head, which leads to draining and then healing.

Bread Compress
A bread compress is an old folk remedy and people find it works quite well. Soak a slice of bread in warm milk and apply it directly onto the boil. Keep replacing the bread slices to keep the infected boil warm for 15 minutes at a time, four times a day.

Tea Compress
Simply place a warm Green tea bag on the boil for 10-15 minutes at a time, several times a day.

Vegetable Compress
Heated slices of tomatoes, raw onions, mashed garlic, or the outer leaves of cabbage can be pressed directly onto a boil. Place heated chunks of any of these vegetables onto the boil for at least 15 minutes several times a day. Make sure that you keep the area warm by replacing it with new heated slices whenever you feel the area getting cold.

Natural Remedy for Boils and Carbuncles Using Onions

Onions have been known to contain antiseptic chemicals which can act as an effective antimicrobial irritant. Therefore, they can be used to treat boils by “heating” a boil and drawing blood to the infected area. A simple remedy is the following:

  • Cut a thick slice of onion and place it over the boil.
  • Wrap the infected area with a cloth.
  • Change the onion every three to four hours until the boil comes to a head and drains.

Home Remedy for Boils and Carbuncles with Oil of Oregano

Oil of Oregano is known for its antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-parasitic and immune boosting properties. Simply taking 3-4 drops of the oil of oregano daily may help with the infection of the boils and carbuncles.

Note: The longterm use of the Oil of Oregano is not recommended due to its interaction with the absorption of the iron in the body. It’s recommended to discontinue its use after about 7 days.

Applying a mix of one drop of Oil of Oregano and one tsp of Coconut or Olive oil with a cotton swab directly onto the boil or carbuncle can help speed up the healing process.

Carefully dispose of the used swab and avoid any contact with the other parts of your skin.

Natural Treatment for Boils and Carbuncles With Black Seed Oil

Black Seed Oil has been used for hundreds of years as a natural remedy for skin infections including boils/carbuncles. Therefore, a simple boil remedy is to mix half a teaspoon of black seed oil into a hot or cold drink, and take this twice daily during a boil infection.

Herbal Remedy for Boils or Carbuncles Using Echinacea

Echinacea has been found to be effective at healing boils. The active substances in the herb helps to clean your blood and lymph glands, allowing antibodies to circulate better and fight off infections. Therefore, a simple boil remedy is to take two 300mg capsules of Echinacea per day. However, it is not recommended that you take echinacea continuously for longer than two weeks.

Where can you buy witch hazel that doesn’t contain alcohol?

  2. I just had a carbuncle removed in hospital, they left the wound open, the wound measured 6cm × 4cm x 3cm deep, I have to get the dressing changed every other day. I’m trying to eat healthy and cut out sugary stuff.

  3. Get yourself some good black seed oil and mix a few drops of BSO with ivory Shea butter. First clean your face with witch hazel. Then put black seed oil and Shea butter mixture on your face every morning and at nigh it doesn’t clog pores and no acne or boils ever on your face. You will thank me later. I have been using this for 7 years now and my skin is flawless. They sell witch hazel at Walmart and Shea butter at Amazon.

  4. I take a few drops of black seed oil every morning and have been for the last five years it works wonders for your well being. And I drink golden milk three times a week. Look it up on YouTube! You will be grateful you did.

  5. Ireyefoju J. O.

Hey, can you please tell me how did you use black seed oil? Did you directly apply it on the boil?

  6. Susie

Not sure if this is a permanent solution but I’m dealing with a painful armpit breakout, which is driving me particularly crazy as I wear outfits that will show armpits from time to time.
Anyways I found that if you get some pure essential oils (best mixture I’ve had so far is, 1 Oz lotion, 3 drops peppermint oil, mix well, then add 10 drops tea tree oil, and mix everything well. If your potion doesn’t want to mix, you can use a half teaspoon of talcum powder (yes I know the carcinogenic factor but you’ll be using a small, non airborne amount, for a very short period of time. And it works perfectly!)
Mix the powder CAREFULLY and SLOWLY until it’s pasty like toothpaste. Add a dab to each carbuncle and gently rub in until it’s as absorbed as possible. Find a long cloth, maybe twice your own height, or at least 6 ft long and a foot or so wide. And pick up a package of Safety Pins.
Now, fill up a long sock with dry, uncooked rice, tie it up well, microwave it for 2:30 minutes. Locate the middle of the clean long cloth, and secure the rice filled sock in the middle with safety pins and wrap the fabric twice around the sock. Then take a small, clean, and soft washcloth and wet it just enough that it is moist and not dripping wet. Wrap the wet washcloth around the heated sock (which is attached to the long strip of fabric) and place it over the carbuncle (which already has the Tea Tree Oil / Peppermint mix rubbed on). Then use the long fabric to secure this compress by wrapping it around your arm or waist or however you can, using safety pins or knots as so it doesn’t keep sliding off. Remember to secure it in a way that it is easy to replace as well.
First time is darned complicated. But by the second time you have already done all of the work, so it’s easy peasy to wear your new hot, moist compress, along with your antibacterial, skin healing and good fresh smelling, lotion 3 times a day by simply microwaving the sock and re-lotioning the carbuncles. Keep the compress on until it’s hot and replace with a reheated one once it gets cold. It will be great if you can place a waterproof material between the washcloth and the sock, so any bacteria doesn’t get into the rice. Oh, and that nasty itch? Ahhhh it will be Gone because the peppermint oil cools and soothes both the pain and itching away. Leave the Calgon on the shelf! ♥️
This remedy helped me a LOT and I hope it helps you as well!!
    Take care ~Susie

  7. Deepak, I have dealt with this nuisance for a long time, and thankfully these tips have helped me. Take 3-4 drops of the oil of Oregano everyday and cut down on sugary and carbs filled foods. Also keep your environment dry and clean. Bacteria thrives in damp environment. Rinsing the affected area with Tea Tree oil mixed water also keeps the bacteria away. Simply add 4-5 drops of Tea Tree oil in a cup of water and rinse the affected skin at least twice everyday. Good luck!

  8. Deepak

My situation is worse. Boils keep coming back. Any permanent solution?

I am thrilled to have read this comprehensive guide to handling boils and carbuncles effectively using natural remedies. I loved the insight, especially the idea of using regular food products such as onions and turmeric to cure the infection. Boils and carbuncles can be quite painful, especially if they appear in areas prone to constant contact. I would give a leg and an arm to lift the pain. That’s why the black seed oil caught my attention and led me to order mine right away and I am hoping to chase away all those ailment with this magic oil.

  10. Deloris

Thank you all for this information. I also suffer from boils and I’m going to try the oils and the Dial soap remedies and also I have purchased the black seed oil.

  11. Healthy

There are many minerals and vitamins found in great quantity in walnuts which provide nourishment to the skin. Walnuts keep the skin moisturized which is very important for glowing and healthy skin. A scrub of walnuts and yogurt is one of the best solutions for skin discoloration. Take some yogurt and add crushed walnuts to it. Make a thick paste and apply it on the dark skin. Scrub for a few minutes and then allow it to dry. Use cold water or rose water to wash it off.

  12. Vaishali

Hey, can you please tell me how did you use the mixture? Did you directly apply it on the boil?

  13. Renney

I suffered from boils from my teens into my early 30’s when finally one doctor advised me to use ONLY antibacterial soap, no more fragrant floral body washes, Dove soap, etc. It was the best advise I’ve ever received. No more boils. It’s been nearly 15 years, and I only use DIAL brand antibacterial soap, or shower gel. I travel extensively, and I pack my own soap to use. No hotel soaps and shower gels. Try it, I guarantee it will work for you.

  14. Cynthia

So you ingest any of the turmeric mixture or only use it topically, for boils? It seems like you used several different things. Do they all have to be used or did just the Turmeric work?

  15. In Horrible Pain

Thank you, I’ve been pretty sure the end was coming soon, I too have thought this will kill me and what a horrible way for it to end. Again, thank you so much for the suggestions!

  16. Terri

I hear your pain about the boils!!! I had been suffering from a carbuncle in my underarm for the past FIVE years. I searched online and experimented with everything I could find that might help. I gave ample amount of time to each thing I tried to work and nothing seemed to clear it up completely and it continuously came back. At the very best it would start looking better but would never quite go away. It looked like a bruised area that would fill up if I let up with whatever remedy I was trying at the time. And my arm and shoulder would hurt too. I almost gave up several times. I even tried antibiotics in high doses which would make it almost go away but the minute I stopped taking them it would blow back up again. I have to admit that several times in frustration and agony I would cry and ask myself, is this what is going to kill me? Because as far as I could tell, up to that point, nothing I did made it go away or stay away. While searching and reading everything I could find online, I always swore to myself that I would tell the world if I ever figured out what would work. I know several people who suffer with boils and thus far no doctor has been able to clear them up.
Well, guess what?? I have come back to share some really awesome news! My carbuncle is almost completely gone. I have not seen this area on my arm look this well in 5 years!!! The color is all back to normal. I have scarring where the boil drained during several of my bouts with it but I expect those to clear up as it can now complete its healing process. YES!!!!
And HERE’S WHAT WORKED FOR ME!!!
First, if the boil has not drained, TURMERIC will drain it fast if you use the remedy where you heat a mixture of 1 TBSP COCONUT OIL to 1 tsp TURMERIC and a few dashes of BLACK PEPPER. Heat that in a double boiler. I put it in a measuring cup & set it in a small pan with boiling water in it. Let it boil for 15 minutes, then cool before taking it. I took a 1/2 tsp and it starts draining within the hour.
You can buy all of these ingredients through Amazon for not very much price! I will always have them at home after I have seen this miracle. I can not believe it is working so well after all I have tried! I started putting this mixture onto the boil before it even started draining and I put it on at least twice a day.
Put a couple of drops of LAVENDER OIL on your finger and rub it on it, then rub on a couple of drops of FRANKINCENSE OIL & then a couple of drops of MYRRH. Also, I’m taking BLACK SEED OIL as a part of my daily regimen. I take 1 tsp of BLACK SEED OIL a day. This works very well!
Prepare to be amazed! I will never be plagued by those nasty painful tings again and neither will you! Wishing you all happy healthy wonderful lives!
P.S. When you try this and experience how well it works, please pass it on to others! People need to know that there is help for these things. Mine was 1 boil in the beginning before I went to the doctor. But after he smashed around on it, it was extremely painful to do that, and it turned into 4 or 5 boils in a row. Then he wanted to talk about surgically removing them! And I had a skin specialist tell me that it would just come back if they cut it out. There was no solution to be found there until now.

  17. Sometimes getting boils means you have Hidradenitis suppurativa – it usually starts between the age of 16 and 29 and sometimes goes away after menopause. I’ve learned to keep acidic food in my diet and it seems to help. Another tip is, when you use washcloths do not reuse them, and don’t let anyone else in your family use the one you have used. There is a cleanser you can use that will help too – it’s called Hibiclens. You may find it at a pharmacy. And avoid smoking, it makes the symptoms worse.

  18. I’ve been suffering from boils, from time to time, for about a year after I was diagnosed with a blood clot in my leg. Don’t know if the blood clot has anything to do with it. But now I’ve come up with a treatment plan that helps me. Once I notice a boil coming, I mix Epsom salt in warm water, as warm as I can stand, and soak in it for about a half hour once daily. And after bathing I apply Nlue star ointment onto the boil for the first 1-3 days then by the 4th day or so I also start applying an anti-fungal cream. At this point the boil comes to a head. So once that happens, I continue to keep it clean and dry and continue the soaks & anti-fungal cream application until the infection is completely gone. I hope it helps!

  19. George

I have a carbuncle under my arm and it is annoying as it causes some fever and I know that the best way is to get it drained professionally. However, I like the bacon remedy as that was the remedy for soldiers years ago.

  20. Priscilla, I used to get boils all the time until I came across Oil of Oregano and Tea Tree oil. These two are magic oils. I took 3-4 drops of Oil of Oregano twice daily (with juice or water) and applied organic Tea Tree oil topically until the boil was healed and took the oil for another few weeks even after the boil was gone. Make sure you buy oil of Oregano only which contains at least 70% of its active ingredient Carvacrol. You can keep taking your prescription medication for the boil if you like. Now I always start taking the oil of Oregano whenever I feel any kind of pimple or rash starting, just to be safe, and thankfully I haven’t gotten any for the past 10 years. Hope it helps!

  21. Priscilla

I’m a Type 1 Diabetic. I had a boil ten years ago when I was first diagnosed. It was a two in one horrible pain. Now I have one again and nothing seems to be helping. Any advice?

  22. Dnearo

I had a friend who had a large boil that reappeared yearly at his waistline. Once he popped it, a large amount of pus would appear. He finally went to a surgeon who advised surgery. The surgeon packed the deep boil with some substance, and stitched it and the boil hasn’t returned since.

  23. So how have the raisins worked for you? How about the soy milk? Oregano Oil? I had a boil surgically removed 4 weeks ago today and it’s coming back. Still haven’t been able to wear jeans as it is located in my groin area. What kind of results has anyone had?

  24. Debby

Patricia P – Do you eat just one snack size a day? I also drink 2 glasses of soy milk a day, I take turmeric twice a day, a multi-vitamin, Vitamin C, and Vitamin D. And now I’m eating raisins and seems like nothing helps. Mine are on my face – some are pimples some are carbuncles, I had 2 very small ones on my right side but they are healed up. I know that natural stuff takes longer to work and gets slowly into your system but I don’t know what else to do? Thanks!

  25. Debby

Sounds like your hormones are imbalanced, that’s what happened to me when my period stopped. I started going through menopause when I was in my mid 30’s then my period stopped when I was 45 and ever since I have had trouble with boils. My cousin had to have a Hysterectomy done a long while back because she had them too. Her DR told her to drink Soy Milk, it balances your hormones. The doctor told her to drink 2 glasses a day, so this is what I’ve been doing too. Try it and see if it helps you. Take Care, God Bless!

  26. Amanda

Try bacon or salted pork. It will most definitely help. Two years ago I had the worst boil ever under my armpit that lasted for about a week. The boil became bigger overtime and also started to get hot as if it wanted to pop on it’s own, but just quite wouldn’t. Their were nights I cried because it was so painful. I tried everything from the egg yolk, warm tea bag and even to an onion with no such luck. So one day I researched and came across an old tale that soldiers used during World War II, which to my surprise was bacon. I took one piece of bacon and cleaned around the boil before placing the bacon on top with a bandage. The bacon was left on for 30 minutes, due to a burning and itching pain that I couldn’t further tolerate. And to my surprise after removing the bandage along with the bacon, the boil had finally came to a head along with a drainage of pus. The bacon with all it’s salt helped to relieve my boil.

@Anon, to bring a boil to head, warm compresses help. It’s best to wait till the boil comes to a head before lancing it. Never squeeze a boil. To use warm compresses, take a few cotton balls and soak one at a time in warm water and cover the boil until cotton ball gets cold. Use warm compress for 3-4 times daily for 10 minutes each. Once it comes to a head, sometimes it starts draining by itself but in case it doesn’t, It’s best to seek doctor’s help for lancing. However, for any reason if you can not see a doctor, only then you may go ahead and lance it. But remember boils are extremely contagious, so take extreme caution draining it and sterilize everything the boil comes in contact with. Wear nonporous (latex) gloves and use well sterilized equipment. To sterilize, put whatever you are using for incision over fire until it’s red, and let it cool. Then pour some rubbing alcohol on the tip. Now disinfect the skin over and around the boil and use a numbing medicine or ice to freeze the incision point. Have a small clean cloth/gauze around the boil ready to catch the pus that will drain out. Use the sterilized sharp tipped item to make an incision over the yellow tip of the boil. Let it drain fully until you see nothing yellow has left inside the boil. Soak everything in gauze/cloth. Once it’s clear of the pus, clean the affected area with rubbing alcohol and apply an antibacterial ointment all over it. Then cover it with loose gauze. And keep changing the gauze until the wound stops draining and starts to dry and close up. Also taking 3-4 drops of oil of Oregano helps fight the recurrence of boils. Oil of Oregano has natural antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. Hope it helps.

  28. I tried my luck by applying baking soda to my boil. It is improved and got smaller and is not as red anymore. I have also been applying lavender essential oil since. It is not coming to a head or erupting. Should I open it?

  29. Patricia P.

Get an 8 pack of raisins the snack size and eat one box a day for the rest of your life. This should keep those nasty boils away. I have just started doing this but I have researched this extensively and those who do the raisin therapy never see another boil even those who have gotten them all there lives. But when they stopped eating raisins the boils came back. I’m on my second box now. Will let you know how it goes and God bless everyone who is suffering.

  30. Cassandra

Thank you for these tips for Boils! I will try them.

  31. My adult daughter has been getting boils on her legs for the last few months (not sure why). The first time she went to the doctor, and it was outrageously expensive for not much treatment. The second time I tried a natural remedy that seemed to help. I applied a mix of lavender and frankincense essential oils (equal parts) directly to the boil and surrounding area. Then I immediately covered it with a warm/wet washcloth for a few minutes. Since it was painful, I finished the treatment by using roman chamomile essential oil on the surrounding area only (don’t use on any open skin, just the surrounding skin). The chamomile is an analgesic so it helps with pain by taking the sting away. After I did this for a couple of days, it expressed the pus on its own and healed. I’m going to follow this treatment if she gets one again.

  32. DIABETIC32YEARS

I get a boil all the time in the same spot. Usually it gets big then pops and after a few days of squeezing periodically to get rest of the pus out it goes away. This time I was able to pop a few spots which took a small amount of puss out but this thing has got huge now. It is a bruise like color at the very top of the boil and it’s soft but will not form any heads or drain. It is hard all the way around except the top which I said was soft. I shower every day, but sweat a lot when working and while sleeping so I think that’s why I get them. I will eventually get it drained but how would I prevent them from forming again? I can’t go without wearing pants and it is located on my waistline just about where my belt buckle would be.

  33. No name

Does any one else get boils on their private areas? I’ve had them repeatedly for years, even before being sexually active. Actually to be exact I’m getting these boils since I started getting my menstrual cycle. Any suggestions? Because I won’t have insurance until next year, and can’t apply for it till November with my job.

  34. Stainless

All the above remedies could have positive effect on the carbuncles/boils.
But please try the following and do not spend one penny to get rid of your carbuncle, you do not need any doctor. You have the solution in your kitchen.
    (a) Crush one garlic with an equal volume red onions (b) Soak a clean (sterile) cloth in hot water at +- 60° and place it on the boil for 60 seconds at least 3 times (c) Cut a piece of (sterile gauze bandage and lay over the boil) apply the onion and garlic crushed mix on the bandage, cover with another piece of gauze bandage, finally apply a plaster of bandage over the boil for 24 hours, you may repeat this process. But if the boil is open, press gently to get rid of pus. You may repeat the process, but I’m sure you are already healed. If you care say thank you.

  35. Try tea tree oil for carbuncles and boils, and don’t get any in the anus area it will burn a lot!

  36. Gavin

@ Pattrick, Sounds like you might have Hidradenitis Supurativa. Ask your doctor.

  37. To treat boils, lay off dairy and sugar. Hot wet compress works. I’m thinking of making a Tumeric paste and applying it on boils. I’ve been using coconut oil and colloidal silver on my dogs ear infection, might help to use on boils too.

  38. Albrito brito

I agree cod liver oil taken internally daily and coconut oil applied on effective area works. I had suffered from boils since pre-teen. Now in my 50’s I have to deal with inflammation on my face ears buttocks, legs and groins. But I find that taking Cod Liver and externally applying coconut oils works!

  39. Albert Brito

Apply coconut oil on the affected area plus surrounding area. Coconut has antiviral properties and heal the skin. It works on acne as well since it doesn’t clog pores. Make sure it is organic cold pressed and raw coconut oil.

  40. Ava Davis

I get so tired of these boils. I just got rid of them and seems like they are coming back! Frustrated!!

  41. Patrick

Hi, my name is Patrick. I have been suffering from carbuncles and boils for a year on my butt. please help!

  42. Tabitha

Thank you Lynn for posting. I have been looking for an answer to my problem for a while. I specifically get boils in the groin and armpit area. I am a super clean person and have tried different remedies but nothing has helped in the last year. I now have something specific to go to my doctor with. Every time I brought it up before they seemed to just shrug it off.

  43. Katrina

You are not alone. I’ve had 4 abscesses removed surgically from my butt and they left scars. It is embarrassing but my partner still finds me sexy. I am self conscious and don’t like wearing swimmers at beaches. I also have boils and lumps on my face, bikini line and underarms. I’m 35.

  44. S. Burg

Bolstering your immune system is very important for preventing boils in the first place. Keeping your skin clean, and preventing infections from getting into the cracks, and scrapes of your skin is important. And eat highly nutritiously dense foods; lots of green veggies! Drink homemade juices of fresh organic vegetables. Drink homemade smoothies made with spinach, cucumbers, and carrots. Don’t think of this as desserts, think of them as medicine and drink/eat them even if you don’t like the taste!
Also – Allicin is effective. It’s a garlic product, acts as a natural antibiotic. It’s very expensive though. I put a drop of it on my sores when they pop up and it usually makes a difference right away.
Get your blood sugar checked. You could be running high blood sugar and not know it. Stop eating foods that bad bacteria live off of; i.e. sugar, processed foods, high fructose corn syrups, etc. Eat whole foods, lots of fresh organic veggies and eat 50% of them raw. Try to eat meat that is hormone free or give up meat all together.
Get your kidneys and your liver checked.
Coconut oil / milk is supposed to be very good for getting rid of bad bacteria as well.
Everything you put in your mouth should be either 1. Feeding the good bacteria in your body or 2. Killing the bad bacteria in your body.
Good luck everyone! Health and healing to you all!

  45. Cheryl

I have been suffering from this condition for 50+ years. I am a woman in otherwise fairly good health, and very clean. Believe it or not. I know one thing that has worked for me – 10-15 natural whole almonds a day – EVERY DAY at the same time. I had read some holistic remedies and started eating almonds to help prevent cancer, but to my delight, I stopped suffering from these painful boils. I am convinced that almonds help because recently, I forgot to take them for about 48 hours and I have a huge carbuncle on my thigh. All I can recommend is try the almonds – they work for me and may also work for you.
