Does Black Seed Oil cure asthma and sinuses. If the answer is affirmative, how do I use it and how much amount should I take in MLs. Thank you!

  4. Rita, for toothache, dab a small cotton ball in black seed oil and apply it directly onto the affected tooth. I sometimes apply Tea Tree oil too. For me applying cloves powder (Indian/Pakistani spice) all around the affected tooth or pressing on the whole clove works. Also black seed has anti bacterial activity so taking 1/4 tsp of black seed oil, can help with any infection. I hope it helps.

Can you explain why or how BSO can help beta-cells in the pancrease. Is it true that insulin production is stimulated by using Black Seed Oil.

  20. Nicky

Hi John, have you tried applying raw honey on your sore? Probably one of the best most natural ways of treating sores. Hope you get better soon.

  21. @Lordlin, you can buy BSO from any health/natural food store or you can get it online.

  22. @Winifred, Black seed oil helps lower high blood pressure. Therefore, it would be better for you to not take it but if you need it for any other health condition, then take a small amount (1/4 to 1/2 tsp) and monitor your blood pressure closely.

  23. Dorothy

Yes, black seed oil is excellent when you take it orally. It is better than taking antibiotics since it’s natural with no severe side affects.

  24. Lordlin Aidoo

  25. Winifred

  26. Sheila

John, I also forgot to tell you that when you soak your foot add one half cup of epsom salt to the water.

  27. sheila

@John, Yes taking black seed oil will be
excellent for you, and indeed put some on your open sore too. This way you’re healing from both inside and outside. Also you still need to watch what you eat.

  28. I took black seed oil once. But after what my friend told me about the black seeds and what I read about it, I would like to take it again.

  29. John Merrill

Never heard of Black Seed Oil defore today. I’m a diabetic. I have an open sore on my left metatarsal bones area of the foot. It won’t heal up. Hope it’s not MRSA. I have been soaking my foot daily. Should I take Black Seed Oil orally or apply topically on the sore? Anyone knows about this type of problem? Someone please advise. Thank you in advance.😊

  30. Tiffany, black seed oil helps with both blood pressure and diabetes. Taking one tsp of black seed oil daily helps lower BP and blood sugar levels, preferably taking it in the morning on an empty stomach. However, keep an eye on your BP and sugar levels so they don’t drop too low. And if you notice any changes, consult your doctor to get your medicine adjusted accordingly. My uncle went drug free for blood pressure after taking Black Seed oil for a few months. I hope it helps!

  31. Tiffany G

I am a diabetic kidney transplant recipient who is also hypertensive. My sugar levels and blood pressure are in control but, of course, I would like to reduce the amount of drugs I’m required to take. So far what has not been negotiable is my taking the three anti-rejection medicines I take tegularly. What benefits do you think I may experience by taking black seed oil? I’d appreciate any feedback. Thank you!

  32. Researcher

@ Jacob, yes Black Seed oil has shown to help during withdrawal period. It has calming and restorative effects even on heroin addicts going through withdrawal. Supposedly, taking black seed oil makes the withdrawal process easier. There have been a few studies done which conclude “Nigella sativa showed a rapid improvement in signs and symptoms of acute opioid withdrawal. It was also observed that Nigella sativa prevented the development of significant craving and relapse” in those patients. Taking up to one teaspoon of black seed oil daily is considered safe amount. Hope it helps!

  33. Jacob

Is BSO good for withdrawal symptoms?

  34. Jackie

Started taking BSO yesterday morning. I took it with honey and green tea. Not spicy, not hard to get down, not bitter and not a nasty taste at all. Hoping to see its results!

  35. Try taking Black Seed Oil in orange juice or with a cup of warm water and a tablespoon of honey and a little bit of cinnamon.

  36. @Harriet, keep on taking black seed along with other drugs the doc prescribed it wont but help recover faster.
And @Barbara, no BS is not spicy. It has a weired/different taste you notice when you start taking it but you will get used to that taste. It is really helpful.

  37. Meriton

To Sandi, I suggest you buy Black Seed Oil capsules. They are much easier to swallow. Yes, oil could be hard to take with spoon.

  38. Brahm

Sandi, try using a kids medicine dropper and squeeze the BSO in the back of your mouth on the side or under the tongue and swallow quickly with juice not with milk. It says on the Black Seed oil bottle which I have that don’t take/mix it with milk. I take Oil of Oregano like this which is way spicier tasting than the BSO. Hope this way you can take it.

  39. Ernest Ofori Duah

Good to hear that black seed oil can benefit you this much

  40. Sandi

I’ve been taking black seed oil for a week now and am having trouble finding a good method of getting it down. It makes the inside of my mouth, tongue and throat burn. I’ve tried it straight, mixed with water, mixed with juice, mixed with honey and lemon and it still burns. Any suggestions? I have fibromyalgia and arthritis so don’t want to quit taking it.

  41. Donald

@Harriet, Black Seed Oil does help with immunity, high blood pressure and nasal congestion. You can rely solely on Black Seed oil for nasal congestion. But even though it aids balance blood pressure levels, still if you are taking prescription medication, don’t stop taking the meds. However, monitor your blood pressure regularly so it doesn’t go too low. Always consult your doctor if you feel the need to adjust your medication.

  42. Ms Barbara, Black Seed oil is not very spicy at all. My 4 year old easily takes it. It tastes and smells like black seeds.

  43. Ms Barbara Ann

Is Blackseed oil very spicy? I have IC (Interstitial cystitis) and can’t have spicy things.

  44. Harriet

I could use your input Lorna.

  45. Harriet

I am taking Black seed gel caps 2 twice a day for my immune system as my blood work showed it was being compromised. Now it’s getting normal, however I caught a cold from my husband and didn’t know that black seed oil also helps with congestion. I had started taking coricidin HBP, should I not take the coricidin and only stick with the black seed oil for the cold as well? I also just read that it (black seed oil) is good for high blood pressure, I am already taking LORSARTIN FOR HBP. Any response is welcome, thank you.

  46. LILIAN

How effective is Black Seed Oil on someone suffering from a stroke i.e. paralysis of one side of the body?

  47. Katie

Nafeeza, Black seed oil is a natural antibacterial oil. I use it for almost every kind of infection. A study published in US National Library of Medicine concludes that Black Seeds (N. saliva seeds) have clinically useful anti-H. Pylori activity. The patients, who showed satisfying results, were given two 500mg capsules of Black Seeds twice daily and Omeprazole 40mg once daily for four weeks after meals. I suggest consult your doctor before taking it. Or start with a small amount of Black Seed oil (half a teaspoon) or one capsule daily and see how you feel.

  48. Nafeeza

I would like to know if H. Pylori infection can be treated with blackseed oil?

  49. Camilia

Azeeda, Black Seed Oil is a very effective oil for many health condition. You can take a few drops of oil everyday for overall health care. However, I found that Apple Cider Vinegar along with BSO really helps with weight loss. Mix one tsp of Apple Cider Vinegar in a glass of water and add a little bit of honey for taste in it and drink it twice daily.

  50. Machino

Rodney, yes Black Seed Oil can help with kidney infection and kidney disease. Try giving her a half teaspoon of Black Seed Oil mixed in a half teaspoon of honey for 3-4 weeks. Check with the herbal store guy when purchasing it too. BSO has a very strong anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory activity. I hope it helps!
